John Matejczyk is an EMMY award winning copywriter, creative director, and director. He founded the San Francisco creative agency, MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER in 2010, which became an Advertising Age Agency of the Year in 2014, serving clients such as Audi, Netflix, SoFi, Google, Method, Hulu, Amazon, Doordash, and HP. John has served as creative director for agencies Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, BBH, Fallon, and TBWA Chiat\Day.

Having created over 100 television commercials with the world’s top film directors such as Errol Morris, Craig Gillespie, Tom Kuntz, Noam Murro, Rian Johnson, Paul Hunter, Lauren Greenfield, Marc Forster, Jeff Goodby, Matt Aselton, and Jake Scott, John learned lots. So, while running MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER, when budgets were tight, he started shooting spots in-house as director for clients like Netflix, the Golden State Warriors, and Salesforce. He enjoyed it, and as they say in business, it “played to his strengths.”
